FAQ

Who is going on the trips?

This privacy policy of www.30-Elephants.com has been posted and is effective as of February 10, 2007. At 30 Elephants your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting your The will be in most cases two adults (some 3). No one under any circumstances will be traveling with your child that you do not meet in the classes prior to departure. In total there will be 9 other children and two adults.

How many escorts to kids?

There are 5 kids per adult.

What about health coverage?

Medical insurance is the responsibility of the parent.

Will you administer medication?

Any medications that can be administered by a third party will and can be administered by 30 Elephants staff provided we have the parents written consent. All 30 Elephants staff members have been CPR/First Aid Level C (or higher) Certified.

Why take only 10 kids at a time?

We will have a host school in each city abroad that we visit. We will only take 10 children at a time because it is a small enough group to give each child the proper amount of attention and answer any and all questions they may have. The weekend trips we may take 10 - 20 kids.

Is there any criterion for the kids you take on the trips?

We do have a few stipulations for the kids that we take. The child cannot have severe disciplinary problems or medical conditions. Being out of the country with a child with either of these problems will hinder the proper care and attention for the other children. If the child is being nominated by their school or parents' employer they will have to meet whatever requirements they have. The same goes for sponsorship. Certain sponsors may require something in order for the child to qualify. (see our terms & conditions for details)

What if my child has a food allergy?

Both escorts will at all times carry each child's pertinent info (allergies, diet, special needs) If a child has a specific need for something that we are not sure is available in our destination we have it mail in our care package prior to our arrival.

What about vaccinations?

Since a staff member has gone to our destination prior to our scheduled trip we will be familiar with vaccinations needed as we will need them for ourselves. We do however always recommend that the parent double checks with their family doctor and/or travel board because being individuals we all have different needs.

What are my payment options?

The trip must be paid for in full 60 days prior to the departure date of the trip. A deposit of $1000.00 is required to hold the child's spot on the trip. There is financing available for those who desire to pay for the trip in installments.

What qualifications do your chaperones have?

30 Elephants Ltd. takes your childs safety as important as you do. Each and every chaperon must have a FBI background search. (These are more intrusive than police checks). They are also required to have CPR level C certification. Those are the two minimum requirements to even be considered.

Who will be guiding us?

We will have a host school at most if not all of our destinations. A teacher or student aid will accompany us to a few of our activities that require or warrant specific knowledge.

Will the girls and boys have separate rooms?

Boys and girls will have separate rooms. There may be a case where we have 9 boys and 1 girl, or vice versa, in a group in which case we will arrange room order with the parents prior to departure.

I do not live in Toronto am I able to participate?

30 Elephants Ltd. is Toronto based but we are by no means Canada confined. We operate out of the U.S. and Canada. Any city where we have 10 participants is an eligible city. When you have selected your trip we do one of two things. Either take you on a tour leaving from a near by city or we find 9 other participants in your city. You can also create your own group! Things are always more fun with friends.

I am 17, can I still participate?

Yes. We get quite a few requests from older kids and parents of older kids. You are eligible for this program as long as you are still in high school or graduated the same year.
